Take a Walk with Andis and Tony in Hui Shan.

Some of you should take a long walk off a short pier.  But not of all of you dear, sweet, rare, readers and voyeurs of mine.

Tony in his New Year's Garb.

My wife Jenny tells me that it is a Chinese tradition to wear new clothes for the new year.  Below, you can see Tony in his getup for the new year of the Bull.

The toque (or Beanie) with the cow on is specially made to be worn this year.

    A Warning from Tony.

Hey man!  I am Tony!  I have a message for you dudes!  Or to be more exacting, a warning!  I have learned how to use a stick.  I am able to beat things with it.  If you don't read this blog and this blog every day; and if you don't watch every episode of the Wuxi Tony Update Series, the best damn baby update series on the Internet, standing on your head five times over, I am going to hunt you down personally and beat the goddamn living bejesus out of you.  I am then going to use my newly learned knife skills and cut you up into little pieces.  I will then mince you and put you in a soup which I will leave outside for the crows to eat.  Whatever parts of you I can't use for soup I will stuff down the gullet of the next person I find who hasn't been reading and watching all the Internet output of AKIC.  The next person will undergo even greater horrors, as I am progressively learning to use other implements like spoons and screwdrivers.  You may want to bite your own head off rather than deal with me if you haven't been behaving properly.

Thank you.  To those of you who object to my speaking in the vernacular of the peasantry, I can only assure that the friendly warnings I have made in the previous paragraph if heeded, will result in a more educated and high-brow peasantry.

I am back and here are the videos I have to show for my time away.

The Family K got back from Beixing Thursday afternoon.  I have uploaded all the videos I took to Youtube.  I have put all eight of them into this playlist for you to peruse.

Good Bye Mouse! Hello Bull or Ox or Cow!

I have a feeling that next year will be the year of Bull.  Be that as it may, I do hope against all evidence that it will be a good year for the rare readers of AKIC.

The K Family will be going to Beixing (near Taixing which is in turn near Jiangyin) to join J's family as they celebrate the Spring Festival a.k.a Chinese New Year.  So, AKIC will not be posting for five days.  To satisfy your AKIC fix you can comb the extensive archives on this blog and my other.  If you want you can take your clothes off and have a beer while doing so.  At AKIC, what you do in your private life is either written on the walls of the urinal of the Blue Bar or Ronnie's, or is more importantly your own business and none of AKIC's.  Of course, I should add that you shouldn't be a jerk or double-cross me, otherwise I may publicize your nefarious doings here anyway.  You can also watch the following video over and over again.  If you get bored, watch it standing on your head for a new perspective.  Any other viewing positions are also acceptable.  If you consult the Karma Sutra before you watch, I will turn a blind-eye.  But whatever you do, watch the latest episode of the Wuxi Tony Update, the greatest, most important Internet baby update series of all history and prehistory too.  It is good for you.

    Happy New Year!

    Xin Nian Kuai le!

    Gongxi Facai!

    Happy Birthday Jenny!

The Spring Festival starts tomorrow, but my wife's birthday is today.  You can go here to see a full tribute to the love of my life.

Join in a conversation with the absolutely fabulous Snowie!

Snowie is one awesome woman!  Consider it your privilege to be able to listen to her speak in this video because, let's face it, she is out of your league.

Seventeen months of You Know Who!

It was seventeen months ago that this video was taken.

Now, look what I have to deal with.

Photos taken in Wuxi on Wednesday.

Here is a street display full of bull or should I say ox?  You can see this for a limited time at the corner of Renmin and Zhongshan Roads in downtown Wuxi.

This is a foot bridge just outside the downtown.  I had to cross it.

As you may note, Wednesday was a gray, dull day in Wuxi.

The Year of the Ox (or Cow) Street Displays are up!

This display sits at a corner near my school.

    Meet Elsi!

One of my rare readers tells me that blog is becoming harder and harder to load.

I know what she means.  Lately when I publish an entry to this blog, my computer freezes.  I must have put too many photos in the blog, and I will have to delete some albums.  But the problem then is that working with this blog online is agonizingly slow.  Trying to get to the edit albums page is impossible.  So, I will publish more photos in the other blog.

Anyway, for now, here is an interview I did with Elsi who works at my school.

The K Household on a Friday Morning.

I don't start work till 1300 so I am spending the morning at home.  Here is what I am dealing with...

    View from a back seat.

I got to make an obligatory blog entry.  So why not upload a photo?

I took this photo yesterday afternoon during rush hour traffic.

See Destruction and a man wearing a Balaclava.

Thanks to Tony being in her terrible two phase, I can now make nineteen seventies-style disaster videos.  Here is the first one:

Tony: a potential member of the Axis of Evil.

All parents hate to think of their children becoming bad, but AKIC: A Wuxi Blog won't shirk contemplating the possibility that Wuxi Tony may become a baddie.  For the afternoon of Wednesday, the fourteenth of January, Tony displayed a Caligula-like petulance.

Imagine what the baddies of history like Fidel Castro, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussien, Pierre Trudeau, Hugo Chavez, the people who created Windows Vista, and Pol Pot were like as children, and you are only beginning to grasp mentally the badness that Tony displayed this afternoon when the wife and I took him to a restaurant here in Wuxi, China.  Tony the terrible wouldn't sit still.  Tony the despicable enjoyed disordering the table settings.  Tony the awful threw away all food that didn't please him.

I took a photo tonight that I think accurately conveys the contempt my son had for civilized values.

Put a beard on him and he would look like Vladimir Ilich Lenin.

New Bakery to open near HyLite

It is not all business shutdowns in the Wux.  There is a bakery, 85 degrees, opening near our school.

Come with Tony as he goes to his father's work.
